What Makes iLASIK Different?
Unlike traditional LASIK, which uses a blade to create a corneal flap, iLASIK uses two advanced lasers:
- Intralase® femtosecond laser – creates a precise corneal flap without blades, reducing risks and improving safety.
- Wavelight® excimer laser – reshapes the cornea in under 30 seconds, correcting vision with incredible accuracy.
The result? A gentler procedure, faster visual recovery, and fewer complications — so you can get back to work, driving, and daily activities often within 24 hours.
Who is a Candidate for iLASIK?
You may be a candidate if you:
- Are at least 18 years old with a stable prescription
- Have healthy eyes and corneas
- Are not pregnant or nursing
For patients over 45–50, iLASIK may not eliminate the need for reading glasses. In those cases, we may recommend Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) as an alternative.
