INTRALASE FEMTOSECOND LASER
iLASIK is a procedure that utilizes ultraviolet light energy from an excimer laser to reshape the cornea, allowing it to focus light rays properly to correct vision and eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses.
iLASIK includes the use of a second laser, the Intralase femtosecond laser, for creation of the corneal flap – the first step in LASIK. This allows for a safer more accurate 100% blade-free treatment. Our patients experience a faster visual recovery with fewer complications with the Intralase laser.
IMPLANTABLE CONTACT LENSES
The EVO ICL is an implantable contact lens that works inside the eye to correct vision. Unlike traditional contact lenses that go on the surface of the eye, EVO ICL is surgically implanted into the eye where it provides excellent quality of vision for a wide range of correction needs.
PHOTOREFRACTIVE KERATECTOMY
Photorefractive Keratectomy (also known as PRK) is a similar procedure to iLASIK for correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. As in iLASIK, the excimer laser is used to precisely reshape the cornea. In fact, the actual laser correction in PRK is identical to iLASIK. The difference is that with PRK the treatment is applied directly to the outer surface of the cornea without creating a flap. The very thin, protective outer epithelial layer is gently removed first, and grows back over a period of several days.
